Recap of the day: As much as I enjoy processed food, I am finally loving how I am looking again, and most importantly how I am physically feeling. The desire to heal and get back to better health if finally becoming more appealing everyday. This new found love of self will became the driving force to push me the temptations from falling back to bad habits and I will continue to reach my weight and body goals.

For lunch and dinner, I thought I would make a wiser choice and eat food closer to my lifestyle.  Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE healthy food. However, I find that most restaurants and places either overcharged for it, or it is so bland I wish I made it myself or I ordered my favorite “junk food staples.”  I watch a lot of youTube and people have mentioned in their post about Sweetgreen.  What really appealed to me was that they had wild rice as an option.  Since wild rice is the only rice approved by Dr. Sebi, I had to give this place a try.

I ordered a grain bowl made with wild rice, arugula, basil, chickpeas, red onions, avocado, cucumbers, and portobello mushrooms. None for the dressing are Dr. Sebi approved, but I thought I would try 3 different  types  of vegan dressings. I ordered the lime, cilantro, jalapeño vinaigrette, miso sesame ginger dressing, and spicy cashew dressings.  Of the 3, the spicy cashew dressing was my favorite, and the  lime, cilantro, jalapeño vinaigrette, was really good too. I could have used olive oil as a dressing option, but plain olive is not appealing to me.

At first, I tried the salad without the dressing and it was ok. However, once I added sea salt to it, it really tasted good especially with the mushrooms and avocado in the mix. Maybe the next time I order from Sweetgreen, I will pick olive oil and lime juice for my dressing to come closer to the recommended Dr. Sebi lifestyle (just make sure you have sea salt on hand because the rice, and avocado was bland.) The other dressings were good, but the cashew dressing took the salad to the next level. I can see why people keep mentioning Sweetgreen and I will order from them in the future when I don’t have time to cook, or whenever I want to treat myself. This is the first time I ate from a salad place, and it came very close to the bowls that I make at home.

Avocado and mushrooms costed and extra $4.00, but it took the grain bowl to another level. The mushrooms were flavored very good and if I only could pick on option, I would pick the mushrooms.

I wished I order more cashew dressing, but it was cool to try 3 different dressing.

I have put on some what since breaking my fast, but eating healthier and workout will get me back on track in due time.
